September 27, 2024
University of Utah football coach, Kyle Whittingham, along with Bill Riley, Director of Broadcasting and Play by Play Voice for the University of Utah and Jason Farrell, President of Live Nation Utah, announced that Billy Joel and Sting, two of the most respected recording artists in history, will be performing a one night only event at Utah’s Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on Friday May 23, 2025.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, October 4th at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com while Citi cardmembers will have access to a special presale beginning Monday, September 30th.

The one night only performance will mark the first time the musical giants have performed together in Utah throughout their careers. This show will be Billy Joels first performance in Salt Lake City since 2017 and will see the return of Sting after his concert at the USANA Amphitheatre (now Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre) in 2023.

Billy Joel and Sting will perform their biggest hits for fans who attend the unforgettable show. Joel is one of the best-selling musicians in history, ranking as the fourth best selling solo artist ever with over 160 million albums sold worldwide and hits that include “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me”, “Tell Her About It”, “We Didn’t Start the Fire” and “Piano Man” among dozens of others. Sint on the other hand racked up hit after hit between his solo career and his time spent playing with The Police with songs including “Every Breath you Take” and “Roxanne” while also making a name for himself as an actor and producer.
